A man has been charged with murder following the death of another man in Solihull.

Kevin Johnson, 38, of Birmingham, has been charged with the murder of Stuart Nash, who died following an incident in Shustoke Road on Saturday evening.

Johnson appeared before magistrates in Coventry on Monday morning and was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on 24 September.

Paying tribute to Mr Nash, his family said: "Stuart was a devoted dad to his six children, including his stepdaughter, and being a dad was one of the most important things in his life.

"He was also a grandad and a fiancé who was loved by his family.

"Stuart was our rock, and his loss has left a huge hole in our lives.

"He was loving and kind and would do anything for the people he loved.

"We will miss his smile, his laughter and simply having him around.

"There are no words that can describe the pain of losing Stuart, and our lives will never be the same.

"He will always be loved and never forgotten.

"We ask for privacy at this terrible time in order to come to terms with this loss."

A 35-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on bail while enquiries continue.

West Midlands Police is continuing to investigate and is appealing for information.
