Residents across Solihull West and Shirley have been sharing their concerns, ideas and priorities directly with their MP during a four-day tour of the constituency.

Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst, MP for Solihull West and Shirley, visited ten locations across every ward in the constituency, meeting residents to discuss a wide range of issues affecting both the local area and the wider country.

The tour provided an opportunity for people to raise individual concerns, discuss local matters and share their views on national policy.

Some residents also attended simply to enjoy a coffee and an informal conversation with their local representative.

Dr Shastri-Hurst said the meetings were an important way of staying connected with the communities he serves and ensuring residents' views are reflected in his work both locally and in Parliament.

He said: "Being an MP is not just about what happens in Westminster.

"It is important that I spend time in the communities I represent and hear directly from the people who live here.

"Over the four days, I had conversations about all sorts of things - from specific problems affecting individual residents to wider questions about the direction of the country.

"Some people came with an issue they wanted help with; others just wanted to stop for a coffee and have a chat.

"Every single conversation is important.

"They give me a much better sense of what is concerning people and what they think should be done.

"They also help shape the issues I raise and pursue in Parliament.

"I am grateful to everyone who came along and took the time to speak to me.

"I will continue to make sure there are always opportunities for residents to see me in their own communities."

The constituency-wide tour also allowed the MP to hear about the different priorities facing communities across Solihull West and Shirley, with feedback from residents helping to inform the issues he takes forward in Westminster.

The meetings formed part of Dr Shastri-Hurst's ongoing efforts to engage directly with residents and ensure local voices are represented at a national level.
