Multiple road closures confirmed as Solihull Half Marathon returns for 2026

Motorists are being warned of road closures across Solihull has the ever-popular half marathon returns this weekend.
Thousands of runners will hit the streets of the borough on Sunday 9 August as they tackle the 21.3km route from Malvern Park to Eastcote, Barston, Knowle and back into the town centre.
The race begins at 9am and road closures will begin at 6am in the morning and are expected to be lifted by 12.30pm.
New Road will be closed from 6am.
Other road closures will begin from 8.30am, including:
- Widney Manor Road
- Smiths Lane
- Browns Lane
- Tilehouse Green Lane
- Longdon Road
- Hampton Road
- Knowle Road
- Barston Lane
- Hob Lane
- Elvers Green Lane
- Kenilworth Road
- Lodge Road
Closures will begin to lift once the final runner has passed.
Organisers expect Hampton Road to reopen from 10.30am, followed by Barston Lane at 10.45am, Lodge Road at 11.25am and then Smiths Lane, Browns Lane, Tilehouse Green Lane, Longdon Road and Lodge Road at around 11.40am.
