Businesses from across Meriden and Solihull East came together to discuss the future of the local economy at a forum hosted by MP Saqib Bhatti MBE.

The Meriden and Solihull East MP held a Business Forum Breakfast at Solihull Moors Football Club, bringing together local employers and business leaders to share their experiences and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the area.

The event gave businesses the chance to raise concerns, share ideas and explore how employers, policymakers and education providers can work together to support economic growth, investment and job creation.

A key topic of discussion was improving opportunities for young people, with attendees exploring how businesses can help create more work experience opportunities and stronger routes into employment.

Mr Bhatti, who previously served as President of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, highlighted the important role local businesses play in supporting families, creating jobs and driving investment in the constituency.

He said: "Local businesses are vital, they create jobs, support families and invest in our communities, so it is essential that their voices are heard.

"Having spent many years working with businesses, including serving as President of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, I know the challenges they face as well as the enormous opportunities that exist here in Meriden and Solihull East.

"I was particularly encouraged by the shared commitment to creating more work experience opportunities and helping young people develop the skills they need to secure rewarding careers."

Mr Bhatti said he plans to hold further Business Forum events in the coming months, encouraging more local businesses to get involved.
