A prolific offender who has admitted dozens of offences across Solihull is due to be sentenced next month for a total of 91 crimes.

Connie Parsons, 33, was arrested last week and charged with a series of offences linked to shop theft and breaches of a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).

Appearing before Birmingham Magistrates' Court on 22 July, Parsons, of Coventry Road, Birmingham, pleaded guilty to 31 offences committed across Shirley and Solihull during July.

She is now set to be sentenced for a total of 91 offences.

Police said many of the offences involved repeated targeting of the same stores, with officers working alongside businesses to gather evidence and secure charges.

Sergeant Kev Vince, from the Shirley neighbourhood policing team, said: "Parsons has shown a consistent disregard for the law and her CBO.

"She has targeted the same store countless times and even when confronted has still attempted to get away with her crimes.

"We'll always do everything in our power to find, arrest and put those responsible for making the lives of shop workers and businesses a misery.

"I want to encourage stores to continue reporting incidents like this to us, without your help we can't target those responsible and prosecute them."

The case comes as West Midlands Police continues its Safer Towns Summer campaign, aimed at making town centres and shopping areas safer and more welcoming.

The force said residents can expect to see increased patrols and enforcement activity in hotspot areas over the summer, with local officers available to respond to concerns from businesses, shoppers and the wider community.
