A section of Coleshill Heath Road in Chelmsley Wood will be closed in both directions for one day next month as part of HS2 construction work.

The daytime closure will be in place from 9.30am to 8pm on Friday, October 2, 2026.

According to HS2, traffic management measures are needed to allow workers to safely carry out a concrete deck pour.

A fully signed diversion route will be in place while the road is closed.

Residents and motorists may also notice low-level noise from the works site during the closure period.

HS2 said the work forms part of ongoing construction activity in the area.

The project is currently undergoing what it describes as a "comprehensive reset" aimed at ensuring the railway can be built efficiently and at the lowest reasonable cost.

The organisation said work related to the reset is being carried out in stages and is due to be completed in 2026, with further updates to be provided to communities affected by the project.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time for journeys and follow the signed diversion route during the closure.
