Serving military personnel and veterans will be able to travel for free on West Midlands Railway (WMR) services to attend Remembrance events this November.

The offer covers the Submariners' Remembrance Service over the weekend of 31 October and 1 November, as well as Remembrance Sunday services on 8 November.

This includes the national Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in London, alongside commemorative services taking place elsewhere in Great Britain.

Free travel is available to serving military personnel, veterans and holders of Bereaved Travel for Remembrance 2026 complimentary tickets.

WMR, alongside sister company London Northwestern Railway (LNR), is also providing free journeys for Royal British Legion fundraisers travelling to London for the London Poppy Appeal on Thursday 29 October.

The rail operator's employees have raised more than £2,700 for the Royal British Legion by ordering specially made metallic pin badges to wear on their uniforms.

The badges were designed by a WMR colleague.

Jonny Wiseman, customer experience and commercial director at WMR, said: "It is so important to pay our respects to those who served and those who continue to serve.

"We are proud to play our part in ensuring military personnel, veterans and bereaved family members can attend commemorative events for free."

Serving personnel must travel in uniform or carry a current Ministry of Defence-issued MOD90 identity card.

Veterans can show a Veterans Railcard, Veterans Oyster card, Ministry of Defence-issued Veterans ID or other appropriate proof of veteran status.

Bereaved family members must carry their named complimentary ticket and photographic ID, which they may be asked to show to staff.

For the Submariners' Remembrance Service, serving personnel and veterans can travel free to any London Terminal station on Saturday 31 October or Sunday 1 November, with return travel available on Sunday 1 November.

Those attending the Cenotaph service can travel free to any London Terminal station on Saturday 7 or Sunday 8 November, with return travel available on Sunday 8 November only.

Free return travel to other Services of Remembrance across Great Britain will also be available on Sunday 8 November only.
