Residents are being invited to attend two free events in Solihull this October to help them plan for later life and access advice on health, finances and care options.

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC) is hosting the drop-in sessions at The Loft in Chelmsley Wood on Friday 9 October and at The Core Library in Solihull town centre on Monday 12 October.

Visitors will be able to speak with local experts about a range of topics, including financial planning, vaccinations and health, housing choices and support to remain independent at home.

Cllr Tony Dicicco, cabinet member for adult social care and health, said: "Later life will look a little different for us all, but we all need to plan and prepare for it.

"You might not know what things to consider when thinking about your later years, or you might be looking for tailored advice on a certain topic such as care options or staying independent in your own home.

"Whatever it is, we've put these events on to help you plan for your own later life – or that of a parent or a loved one – with confidence.

"Everybody is welcome and there is no need to book, just drop in and speak to our friendly stallholders.

"We look forward to seeing you there."
