Solihull named a top commuter town by Rightmove
By Emily Griffin 7th Jul 2026
Solihull has been named one of the most sought-after commuter towns for Birmingham in Rightmove's most popular UK commuter towns for buyers in 2026.
New research has ranked Solihull fourth among the commuter hotspots surrounding the city, with properties in the borough generating 28 per cent more buyer enquiries than homes in Birmingham itself.
Rightmove found that Solihull offers one of the quickest journeys into Birmingham, with trains reaching Birmingham Moor Street in around 10 minutes.
The borough also benefits from frequent rail services, with around three fast trains into the city centre an hour.
Average property prices in the borough stand at £423,377, making it the most expensive location among the top five commuter towns identified.
Despite the higher price tag, strong demand suggests lifestyle factors are a key driver for buyers, who appear willing to pay a premium for the area's fast transport links and access to Birmingham.
Leamington Spa topped the rankings, generating 55 per cent more buyer enquiries than Birmingham properties, followed by Warwick and Rugby.
Wolverhampton completed the top five, benefitting from frequent rail services and lower average house prices than the city.
