A plan to turn a property into a care home for children has been submitted to Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC).
Applicant Hoxha lodged the plans for the conversion of a family home in Grenville Road, Shirley, with SMBC in August.
The application is to change the use to become a care home for up to three children, aged seven to 17 years old.
A planning statement included in the application from planning agents Simpatico Town Planning says: "The children would live in a domestic, family environment, being supported and cared for by professional care staff, who would be present 24 hours a day, on a rota basis.
"In order to assist the new use, this application also proposes various improvements and alterations to the property, including both single and two storey extensions, and the remodelling of its driveway to provide additional 'on plot' parking space.
"The proposal represents a carefully considered and appropriate form of development for this site.
"It would bring a vacant or under-utilised family dwelling back into active residential use, providing a small, domestic-scale children's home for up to three young people, supported by professional care staff within a stable family-style environment.
"The proposed use would remain modest in scale and would operate in a manner which is materially comparable to ordinary family occupation.
"The proposal has been designed to avoid material harm to neighbouring occupiers.
"The extensions would provide suitable internal accommodation for the intended use while preserving the domestic character of the host property.
"There are no material considerations which indicate that planning permission should be withheld. It is therefore respectfully submitted that planning permission should be granted."
Neighbours can have their say on the proposal in a consultation which is now underway and has a closing date for submissions of October 1.
