Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst MP met with members of Solihull's Hong Kong community during a visit to a support group at Solihull Methodist Church.

The MP for Solihull West & Shirley attended a session of "Shall We Talk", a group which meets on Monday mornings to provide a welcoming space for Hong Kongers to socialise and access support.

The morning began with coffee and informal conversations before Dr Shastri-Hurst spoke about his role as the local MP.

Attendees then took part in smaller breakout discussions, giving them the opportunity to raise issues and share their experiences of living in the Solihull area.

Dr Shastri-Hurst said it was a pleasure to meet members of the community and learn more about the group's work.

He said: "It was a real pleasure to visit 'Shall We Talk' and meet so many members of the Hong Kong community in Solihull.

"I'm really proud of our local Hong Kong community, who are such an asset to Solihull and contribute so much to our area.

"It was great to learn more about the support the group provides and discuss how I can continue to support them as their local MP.

"I would also like to extend my thanks to everyone at 'Shall We Talk' for welcoming me to Solihull Methodist Church and for the opportunity to speak with members of the group and discuss the issues that matter to them."

"Shall We Talk" is one of a number of community groups supporting Hong Kong residents who have settled in the borough.
