Unpaid carers, people who use adult social care services and community organisations across Solihull are being invited to share their experiences as the council develops plans for the future of adult social care.

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC) is seeking feedback to help update three key documents: the Carers Strategy, Our Offer to You, and a new five-year plan covering the period from 2027 to 2032.

The authority said the views gathered through surveys and public events will help shape the new strategies before formal consultations take place at a later date.

Residents can get involved by attending one of several in-person events or by completing online surveys.

Existing strategy documents, surveys and event information are available on the council's website.

Councillor Tony Dicicco, SMBC's cabinet member for adult social care and health, said: "These surveys and events offer a chance for people and organisations to tell us things such as what support works well, what would make the biggest difference to them, and identify where we can do better in the future.

"By working together, we can ensure that these documents reflect what matters most to people, reflecting their needs and priorities for the years ahead.

"We're really keen to hear from as many people as possible, so if you have 10 minutes, please take part in one or as many of the surveys as you would like, or join one of our events."

The public engagement events will take place at venues in Chelmsley Wood and Solihull town centre throughout October and November.

The council is also offering to visit community groups and organisations to discuss the plans and gather feedback.

The three strategies will help guide how adult social care services are delivered across the borough over the next five years.
