Castle Bromwich voters left divided as undercover scandal triggers crucial by-elections

Castle Bromwich residents have given a mixed reaction to the resignation of Reform UK councillors caught in an undercover sting, leading to by-elections in their area.
Alan Feeney was caught saying the area had been "infested" by Asian families, calling them "absolute parasites" in the ITV documentary.
Jamie Campbell said they should "buy some pork chops" to prevent a mosque being built, while Chris Whelan said of a female candidate: "If she was my daughter, it would still be bath night on a Thursday. I'll wash you properly this time."
All three quit, which resulted in the now high-profile by-elections being called for next month.
A resident of Poplars Drive said: "Why did they go after Reform?
"What about Labour and Conservative – why wasn't there an undercover investigation into them?
"I've voted Conservative in the past, I became frustrated with them. I want Reform to win."
A neighbour said: "I vote mostly for Labour.
"The documentary hasn't altered my view on Reform, it was low anyway.
"It just confirmed what I thought."
Another neighbour said: "I run a community club, I met Alan Feeney in May and he spoke to us.
"It has destroyed his life in politics.
"I haven't decided who I will vote for yet."
A woman living on the road said: "I will vote because people fought for us to. I usually vote Labour.
"I was shocked by what I saw in the clips, their behaviour and things said about women.
"It's put Castle Bromwich in the headlines for the wrong reasons."
In the ITV documentary, some of the most offensive comments made by Mr Feeney took place while he was out campaigning in Bradford Road.
A reporter from the Local Democracy Reporting Service also knocked on doors there to get residents' views.
A woman living in the road said: "I don't believe a word any of them say now – I have no confidence in any of them.
"The comments were disgusting.
"I've always voted, this will be the first time – I'm not voting anymore.
"The country's a mess, politicians don't change it."
A neighbour said: "The bath night comment disgusted me.
"The only reason they thought they could say it was they thought they were amongst friends. The racism too.
"We don't want everyone (in the country) thinking everyone is like that around here.
"It has put a damper on people's views of politics."
A male voter in the street said: "There is a lot going on around here, a lot of it is to do with immigration but you are not allowed to have an opinion.
"I am undecided, but I have never seen so many people from different parties knocking on my door.
"They are all seeing an opportunity."
And his neighbour said he was disillusioned by politics as they were all much the same.
"What he (Mr Feeney) said was totally wrong, but I bet most people in this road agree (about illegal immigration)," he said.
"The bath comment was totally wrong."
Another neighbour simply said: "We don't care about the election at all".
Voters are set to head to the polls on Thursday, November 26, with a full list of candidates set to be published on Monday, (November 2).
