Busy road near Meriden to close for five nights during major works
By Emily Griffin 3rd Nov 2026
A lane of the A452 Kenilworth Road will close overnight for five nights later this month as HS2 works continue.
The northbound lane of the contraflow between Bradnock's Marsh and Meriden roundabout will close from Monday, November 16, to Friday, November 20.
The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am each night, with the lane reopening every morning.
HS2 said the closures are needed to allow work to progress following the installation of the contraflow on the new southbound carriageway.
Work will include resurfacing Marsh Lane, testing the vehicle restraint system, carrying out surveys and continuing the installation of street lighting.
A signposted diversion route will be in place for northbound traffic.
Drivers travelling to Lincoln Farm Truck Stop and residents of Marsh Lane will be escorted through the closure between Bradnock's Marsh and Meriden roundabout.
The works form part of HS2's ongoing construction programme. The project is currently undergoing a comprehensive reset, which HS2 says is intended to ensure the railway can be built efficiently and at the lowest reasonable cost.
The reset is being carried out in stages and is expected to be completed in 2026.
