Birmingham Airport has unveiled plans for more than £2 billion of investment as it looks to accommodate around 30 million passengers a year by 2041.
The airport's draft master plan sets out how it intends to grow over the next 15 years, with a focus on making better use of its existing runway and facilities.
Plans also include improving the passenger experience and transport connections, while supporting the regional economy and delivering benefits for local communities.
The airport said, "Our vision is to be the Midlands' gateway to the world, unlocking economic prosperity and opportunity through the sustainable development of our infrastructure; delivering exceptional connectivity for people, businesses, and communities."
Its updated Sustainability Strategy also outlines a commitment to reducing the environmental and community impacts of its operations and future development.
The draft master plan considers a range of issues, including carbon emissions, aircraft noise, air quality, biodiversity, landscape, water and sustainable transport.
Birmingham Airport said collaboration and community engagement would be central to its plans as it looks to balance future growth with environmental responsibilities.
