Families in Solihull can look forward to a summer full of free entertainment as Touchwood brings back its popular urban beach and launches a programme of family-friendly events throughout the school holidays.

The free beach, often dubbed the "Costa Del Solihull", will return to Theatre Square from 18 July until 31 August, offering children the chance to swap screens for sandcastles, buckets and spades.

Alongside the beach, Touchwood is hosting its Summer Sessions programme, featuring a range of free activities and performances designed to keep families entertained over the summer break.

The line-up includes bubble performers, princess-themed pop shows, drama workshops, arts and crafts activities, children's DJ parties and visits from children's authors.

Louise Woodward, Marketing and Events Manager at Touchwood Solihull, said: "With Touchwood's Summer Sessions, we want to create a summer filled with free family fun.

"With the cost of living continuing to be a challenge for many, it's important to me that we support local families and help them make the most of the school holidays without the extra cost.

"Alongside our free Urban Beach, which is open every day throughout the summer, we've put together an exciting programme of entertainment, from giant bubble shows and children's author visits to pop princess tribute performances.

There's something for all families to enjoy."

As well as the beach and entertainment programme, visitors can make use of Touchwood's wider leisure offering, including family games at Game Guru, activities at Spinners and trips to the cinema.

A variety of cafés, restaurants and takeaways will also be available throughout the summer for families spending the day at the centre.
