The Mayor of Solihull will join residents, veterans and serving personnel at Remembrance events across the borough this week.
Cllr Sardul Marwa MBE JP has already visited the Poppy Appeal stall at Touchwood Shopping Centre, where he met volunteers supporting the Royal British Legion's annual fundraising campaign.
He also attended the Dedication of the Cenotaph Service in Knowle, paying tribute to those who have served and sacrificed in conflicts past and present.
Over the coming week, the mayor is due to attend the Olton Remembrance Service and Remembrance Sunday commemorations in Solihull town centre.
The Deputy Mayor will also represent the borough at the Shirley Remembrance Sunday Parade, organised in partnership with the Royal British Legion.
Remembrance events will take place across Solihull on Sunday 8 November, including local services, processions and Spitfire Saturday.
Residents are advised to check the council's website for details of road closures planned to accommodate the commemorations.
Councillor Marwa said: "Remembrance is an opportunity for us all to pause, reflect, and give thanks to those who gave so much in service to our nation.
"Whether attending a local service, supporting the Poppy Appeal, or observing the national two-minute silence, I encourage everyone in Solihull to take a moment to remember all those who have given their lives in defence of the freedoms we enjoy today."
