Solihull planning round up: land for sale, children's home concerns, objections for pub

Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
Land for sale
A small patch of land in Balsall Common is currently on the market.
ehB Residential is marketing the piece of land on Green Lane for £200,000.
The plot has planning permission for a three-bedroom house to be built on it.
The brochure describes it as: "A rare opportunity to acquire a site with full planning permission to build a bespoke family home in a lovely semi-rural location.

Children's home concerns
Olton residents say they "don't want any more" children's homes in their area after alleged issues including late night fireworks at one approved by Solihull planners last year.
As the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) recently reported, a proposal for a children's home in Wilmcote Road was examined at the latest meeting of the council's planning committee.
Laura Mulcany, who lives in Bryanston Road, told the committee: "The reason I'm here, I feel quite passionately – there is another children's home in the vicinity.
"It is directly behind my house on Stoner Park Road. We object to this as we now know children who are much older can contribute to anti-social behaviour.

Pub terrace objections
An Earlswood pub wants to change its alcohol licence to cover an outside terrace but concerns of potential noise and anti-social behaviour have been raised by locals.
The Mallard at Tidbury Green Farm has applied to Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC) for permission to sell alcohol daily between 9am and 10pm – a change from the current allowed hours of 10.30am to 11pm.
And the applicant wants to amend the licence to an approved layout plan – which has been submitted with the application to the council – that includes an external terrace area.
The 300-year-old Tidbury Green Farm set up the watering hole after being granted a licence by the authority in 2020.
