Two men have appeared in court following an early-morning blaze in Solihull where cars and houses were damaged.

Kristopher Kennedy, aged 37, and Tyrelle Philip, aged 18, were both charged with arson being reckless to endanger life.

It comes after two vehicles were set alight on Handford Crescent in the early hours of 17 July.

No-one was hurt but houses were damaged following the fire.

Solihull CID began investigating and worked to identify a vehicle suspected of being involved.

Within hours, the vehicle was tracked to the West Yorkshire area, and Mr Kennedy and Mr Philip were arrested.

The pair, from Yorkshire, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates earlier this week and were remanded in custody ahead of appearing at Crown Court next month.
