A new advice service offering free support to residents across Solihull is set to launch next month.

The Here2Help Advice Service will begin operating from 1 October, expanding access to advice and support in communities throughout the borough.

Funded by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC) and delivered by Citizens Advice Solihull Borough in partnership with Colebridge Trust, Entraide, Gateway Family Services and Shelter, the service will provide free and independent advice to residents.

The new scheme replaces the existing Community Advice Hubs and will offer face-to-face support in trusted community venues across Solihull's 17 wards, alongside a dedicated telephone advice line.

During the initial launch period, the service will focus on urgent enquiries and supporting residents already on waiting lists while advisers complete training.

In-person venues will then open on a phased basis.

Residents can access support or find out more about services in their area by visiting the Citizens Advice Solihull Borough website or calling 0121 788 6527.

Kerry Turner MBE, Chief Executive of Citizens Advice Solihull, said: "We're really excited to be delivering this new service in the heart of local communities.

"As we expand the service from two in-person locations to at least one in every ward, there will be a phased roll-out of support, with help and advice available through our phone lines.

"We look forward to announcing more information about our in-person venues over the coming weeks."

The service will provide support on a range of issues including welfare benefits, debt, housing, employment, consumer rights, disability rights, adult social care, health and immigration.

Cllr Tony Dicicco, SMBC's cabinet member for adult social care and health, said: "The new service builds on our existing Here2Help campaign and will help people to find the right support, in the right place, at the right time.

"By bringing support closer to where people live, the service will make accessing advice easier and more convenient, enabling us to support more people."
