A road in Chelmsley Wood is set to close during the day for five days later this month as HS2 carries out work in the area.

A section of Coleshill Heath Road will be closed in both directions between 9.30am and 3.30pm from Monday, October 19 to Friday, October 23.

According to HS2, the temporary closure is needed to allow workers to safely install parapets.

The rail project said: "Traffic management will be in place on Coleshill Heath Road in both directions to allow our workforce to safely carry out parapet installations."

A fully signed diversion route will be in place while the road is closed.

Residents may also notice low levels of noise coming from the work site during the project.

HS2 said the work forms part of wider activity on the high-speed railway route, adding that the project is "undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost".

The company said the work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026, with further updates to be provided to communities as the programme progresses.
