‘Solihull deserves better’ as van tours town after Reform councillors’ comments exposed

An advertising van visited Solihull town centre today (Monday, October 19) to highlight offensive remarks made by former Reform UK councillors.
The van, organised by campaign group 38 Degrees, visited Castle Bromwich and Solihull town centre, near Morrisons.
It displayed the message: "Solihull's Reform councillor called people here 'absolute parasites'. Solihull deserves better".
The stunt followed an undercover ITV investigation which captured three Reform UK councillors, who had represented Castle Bromwich ward, making racist and offensive remarks.
All three councillors have since resigned.
Nub News spoke to a number of residents outside the van, although only one was comfortable being quoted.
Harvey, a long-time resident, said he felt "ashamed that they [the councillors in question] have been elected to represent our local area".
The campaign was funded by hundreds of members of the public, who contributed an average donation of £8.45.
38 Degrees said the van aimed to ensure local residents were aware of the comments made by their former representatives.
